According to an interview from the game's offical guide Luigi, and he was later found in the source code of a beta version of the game Luigi in mario 64: When Mario 64 came out there were a lot of rumours about luigi being in the game. I will admit, Galaxy had a nice hub world, but I prefer Peach's Castle over it. These two games are the closest things we're getting to an open world Mario game. Of course, seeing as they are Mario games, they aren't overly complicated. Both of which are exceptionally smooth in terms of controls. Not to mention, Galaxy has an array of colorful galaxies to explore, and an overall amazing sense of atmosphere.Īs previously mentioned, we're dealing with two 3D platformers. Mario 64 was the first Mario game to incorporate 3D visuals, however, that game was made in 1996, so it should go without saying that Galaxy (released in 2007) has much better graphics.
Both are 3D platformers, unlike the usual 2D scroller Mario titles.
